Tuning a grand piano.

The acoustic piano is the result an evolving tradition that is centuries old. It is a marriage of engineering and handcraft, of wood, felt and metal. It feels the heat, cold and humidity; its sound changes, and its parts wear, as you play it. It is a machine with a soul.

When well cared-for, your piano will last a very long time. Regular tuning keeps the instrument in good health. Voicing the hammers and regulating the action periodically will keep it sounding and playing well. And, eventually, parts can be replaced or restored to bring the piano new life. Practising on a piano that is in good condition is vital to the success of anyone learning to play.

Regulation of part of a grand piano's action.

Each piano has a unique voice and feel, the result of differences in design, construction methods, and the characteristics of the materials from which it is built. Likewise, every piano owner will have different needs and different tastes. My hope is to help you get the most from your piano, whether it be to maintain its value as an investment, or to facilitate that meeting of player and piano where music happens.

I am a Certified Piano Technician, fully qualified to give your piano the care it needs. Based in London, I serve all of Southwestern Ontario.
